Sorry, I have been playing to much with random players. My experience with guild members is, In the middle of a mission; "Sorry, I have to go. My guild members need me." Result, greyed out life bar.

Kitty, if you ask me, that reflects poorly on the guild and the player if they can't wait 15-20 minutes to let him finish his obligation in a mission. I will say that I haven't had that happen to me very much so part of it might be your luck.

What I want to say is, that the price will not stop newbies from getting a hall. One can easily farm 70K in pre-sear. That was what I did.
I just want to be able to change the guild name, without losing the hall. I have worked very hard for it, while the name only cost 100G. Is that to much to ask? Put a pricetag on the hall as high as you want, but please give people a chance to change the name. It is tough, for below average players like me, to get that much of money over and over again.
The majority of my guild wants a namechange, without having to lose an arm, leg, a kidney and a high mortage on our homes.
Call it a nub question, but how/why did you farm 70k in pre?

ontopic - The name change price drop would certainly cause some confusion with people changing guild names a lot like some have already said, but I do like the idea of a name-change limit.
I like having a guild
1. for a cape
2. for pvp
3. so I can form a group for any mission without spamming LFG all the time.

but thats just me.

Can someone clarify:

Do you need to be in a guild to fully explore GW: Factions? I heard something about guild leader choosing the L or K side ...

Why does many people want to be a guild leader? I am guild leader myself, but I do not mind if someone want to take over this post.

A GH is not required to play PvP, only required to play GvG. I know the feeling. It is very hard to get daily active, friendly and loyal players nowadays, but fortunately we have several in our guild.

My hair almost turned grey by playing with PUGS, that is why I have a guild that play GvG, PvP and some PvE (only when really bored). How about PM me some time and we could play together. My lifebar will only turn grey cause of err7, which happens exceptionally.

I heard that you can talk to the Canthan Ferry Captain at Lion's arch and tell him you want to shop for a guild hall, and that once you are in a different guild hall, you tell him you want to switch guild halls and he gives you your sigil back so you can buy a different hall. At which point you can sell the sigil, or in your case, disband and recreate your guild, and choose your guild hall again.

I am not the guild leader of my guild, so I have not been able to try this, but I thought I might mention it since it could save you a lot of money. If it is not true, sorry...just trying to save you the time of farming 20k.

Only signed if changing guildname would also reset the ladderposition.

I give you two hints: "Boring static gargoyles, and easy money while being at work " This is not all, but already more than I want to tell.

That is certainly worth trying
It is not the money, but it is simply way to expesive losing a guild hall, just because you want to change the name.

Erm... I didn't ask to become a leader. That is something that happens when you register the name. I deleted the character which formed the guild, but I am still leader.

Dream on. Why don't you try to recruit people, without a GH? You'll see that many will not join you, because you don't have one.

I am not a nice person. My tactical options will always be ignored, I get angry over "My health is 350 out of 350" spam (I already know I'm a good healer ), and I don't chit chat in the game. When we do a mission, all I want to talk about is that particular mission.

Well if you can get some other people to join your guild, then you can hand it off if you like.

If its a one person guild, why buy a hall?
And yes.. i agree with what some people have said about guilds just changing their names too much. Its the same with changing your character name, they want to make it as realistic as possible- most people dont change their name one day just because they done like it.

yes, its, by the definintions the game uses, since *anyONE* can form a guild.

personally, i am rooting for a Mini-Guild system so that those of us who want to make small guilds (from one person up to 25 memebers) can do so without having to work s hard at it.
obviously, we would loose out on certain aspects of the game, such as...

we would get a smaller hall...example, the current Halls become named Guild Isles...and one large Isle becomes around 8 different Fort-style Halls for Mini-Guilds (so rather than a celestial sigil, you pay about half the price for a Star Sigil for a hall)
mini-guild can only GvG against OTHER mini-guild, have no ladder (or if asked anough, they own little ladder)
Mini-guild dont get as much of everytihng as a full size guild would, of course.

if at any time, you wanted to upgrade to full size guild, just go talk to the guild hall manager and select upgrade. pay the difference between a celestial to Star sigil (noted at the original time of purchase, so you dont have to pay more or les dependingon the markets flux) and there ya go, chief...your now a Full Sized Guild

simply because somone has yet to find a person they trust, can play with and like, that they might aske them into their guild, dose not make thier guild a non-entity

Why do you want to recruit people when you want to have a 1-person-guild?

This question doesn't sound logical to me.

I prefer to stay as close to the topic as possible. The size of my guild, and why I want to have a hall, is my problem.

well i am guildless my self, but in the other hand i was considering a one man guild..if A-net give the option for a storage in guildhalls..i need the place to store my items..and extra money is not a problem.

i would agree with the OP (if i buy my own guild i would want to easyly change its name and hall as i want).
like Makkert said../signed if resets guild standing in ladder.

one possible reason is that if a quick easy, cheap guild name change were possible think of the maggots coming out of the wooswork with their cute obscene name guild just to see how long they could offend people before being told to change it.

this makes some of them think that the price of doing that is too high.
